Wrinkle  Correction treatment is a revolutionary approach to eliminating  unwanted wrinkles and lines. It is effective on crow's feet (on the side  of the eyes), frown lines (between the eyes) and worry lines (on the  forehead).

Wrinkle Correction Treatment is also effective on  dynamic wrinkles. These are wrinkles and lines which are caused by the  movement of facial muscles. Dynamic wrinkles and lines may be treated  with Botox® to prevent the formation of static wrinkles and lines.  Static wrinkles and lines cannot be treated effectively with Botox® as  they are evident without muscle movement. These are the lines and  wrinkles that are evident on a relaxed face. However, following multiple  treatments with Botox® these lines can fade over time.​

The botulinum toxin we use contains a specially prepared naturally occurring protein that  originates from bacteria. The purified protein has been used in clinical  practice for more than 20 years. This extensive experience confirms the established safety profile of this product. 

We use Botox® for our Line  Relaxing Treatment, which is manufactured by the Allergan  Corporation and has been subject to stringent trials to ensure its  safety. 

It was licensed in 2002 by the FDA (Food and Drug  Administration) for the temporary treatment of moderate to severe frown lines in people aged 18 to 65.  In 2014 Allergan also obtained the  licence to treat ‘Crows Feet’.

 Rhytides (wrinkle) are generally of three different types:

• Those due to loss of volume in the face, particularly the upper face, causing  the face to respond to gravity and drop, forming lines e.g. nose to mouth lines.
  
• Those due to the repetitive sleep positions that mark the skin. These lines will deepen over time.
  
• Those  due to repetitive movement of muscles e.g. crows feet around the eyes  and frown lines. These are dynamic wrinkles and are the type of wrinkles  that will respond well to treatment with botulinum toxin.

A  minute quantity is injected into the muscles that cause dynamic lines, for example frown lines. The injection temporarily prevents nerve  signals from reaching the muscle and, as a result, the muscle relaxes. As the muscle relaxes the skin smooths out.

Prior to the treatment a full medical consultation will take place to ensure that there are no medical contraindications.

The actual procedure takes approximately 10 – 15 minutes and most people return to normal activity immediately afterwards.

Botulinum Toxin is also used to treat HYPERHYDROSIS (excessive sweating).

The  smoothing effect usually lasts up to four months and will take maximum  effect approx 10-14 days after the treatment at which time you will be  asked to attend a review appointment where any refinement treatment can  be carried out. Improvements from Botox® Treatment last for  approximately four months, but if you discontinue treatment, lines and  wrinkles will re-appear and look as they did prior to treatment.  Research has shown that prolonged use of Botox® Treatment can lead to the effects lasting longer.

This  treatment should always be performed by an experienced, fully trained injector who can make sure that the correct amount is injected in precisely the right areas. Our Nurse practitioner is a fully qualified independent experienced Nurse prescriber who will always ensure that you have the look you desire.

How  to care for your skin will be discussed by your practitioner at the initial consultation and immediately after your treatment. Clients will  also receive written literature on aftercare and all clients will be offered the opportunity to attend a two week review following treatment to discuss expectations, top ups and any concerns.
